What is the purpose of the Gateway Innovation and Discovery Center?
The purpose of the Gateway is to provide an environment for residents to experience the latest technology, research information, discover the unknown, and enjoy time with family and friends.
What ages will benefit from visiting the Gateway?
All ages are invited to the Gateway. Programs offer something for everyone: senior citizens, professionals, college students, teens, pre-teens and children. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What services are offered at the Gateway?
Spaces are available for meetings and collaborative activities for small gatherings of two people to large groups of up to 30. The Gateway is a place for both individuals and teams, whether it’s a corporate group or class. We also offer free printing up to 10 pages.
Are laptops, iPads, and Tablets available for use at the Gateway?
Laptops, iPads, and tablets can be checked out for use within the center with a government issued ID card.
How will the center impact the residential and commercial aspect of the neighborhood?
The Gateway serves as a hub of activity and learning for residents and businesses alike. Free Wi-Fi supports research and collaboration in and around the center. The environment is inviting to all. With its meeting place readiness, the Gateway enhances the Alberta area and allows Tuscaloosa residents and businesses to connect to the latest technology and to each other.

Yes, the Gateway offers free wireless access for all devices used in the building. After hours, as a service of the City of Tuscaloosa and the Gateway, Wi-Fi is available to those within range.
